Poop
Beagles eat every type of poop known to man. Anybody who has had a beagle knows this. It is a beagle thing. I have noticed that our beagles will not eat the moose poop. They even shy away from it and give any pile encountered a healthy berth. This fascinates me for some reason so I asked our live-in Naturalist why beagles won't eat moose poop.
"What the hell kind of question is that?" he responds. "What do you mean by asking 'why beagles won't eat moose poop'! Why would we need to know the answer to that question?"
"Exactly!" I respond deep into my scientific musings. "That's good, that's good" I say in encouragement to the young Naturalist. "I love the way you have taken our research question to the next level but let's figure out the first question before we move onto impacts"
Thinking he is with me and in the throes of our moment together, I repeat earnestly "Why DON'T beagles eat moose poop???"
The Naturalist has wandered off in disgust. I am not sure if he is disgusted with my methodology or the beagles. I will continue to ponder this great question while the beagles snack on deer poop.
